Ashley Kerwin
10th Grade
Girlfriend of Craig. Ash has gone through more changes than probably anybody else at Degrassi. She went from being the most popular girl at school to one of the least, because of some super bad behavior she pulled at a party. But, after a huge struggle, Ashley finally seems to have found herself as a person. She lightened up her self-imposed goth look, then went a long way to win back her friends--like Paige and Spinner--and to snag one of the most eligible guys in school.
Craig Manning
10th Grade
Boyfriend of Ashley. The two of them seem to understand each other on a sort of deeper level, and she helped him deal with a really bad time recently when his dad died. Craig lives with his stepfather, Joey, and his kid sister, Angela. He's smart, funny, and it seems like nobody doesn't like him. Craig plays in a band with Marco, Jimmy, and Spinner, and he carries a camera with him almost all of the time. he's also got a weird thing going with Manny...
Paige Michalchuk
10th Grade
Girlfriend of Spinner, captain of the Spirit Squad, self-appointed leader of the fashion police, Paige is the girl that everyone wants to be. At least, that's what she thinks. Actually, Paige has toned down her ego quite a bit since she went through a horrible experience last year. She's friends again with Ashley, who she'd been on the outs with for a long time. She hangs with Jimmy and Hazel too.
Spinner Mason
10th Grade
Boyfriend of Paige. Spinner's been the school bully for a while. He was also longtime best friends with Jimmy, until Spin got jealous and stole Jimmy's MP3 player. He tried to make it up to him and give it back, but it was too late. They've since made up somewhat, and even play in the same band, but it's not like before. Spin also isn't happy with the fact that his friend Marco is gay.
Ellie Nash
10th Grade
Ellie was Marco's girlfriend, until Marco admitted to her that he's gay. She agreed to keep pretending they were dating until Marco was ready to come out to the rest of the world. Eventually Ellie got sick of the charade, and told Marco as much. But they're still soulmates and understand each other better than anyone else at school. Ellie also befriended Ashley last year, and helped her find her true self.
Jimmy Brooks
10th Grade
Jimmy's used to be one half of Degrassi's hottest couple, when he dated Ashley. Then Ash alienated him with a majorly bad move. They made an attempt to get back together, but Ash realized that the two of them are very different people. Also, Jimmy had long been best friends with Spinner, but another bad move--this one on Spinner's part--nearly killed their friendship. They're okay now, but nowhere near as close as they were before. Jimmy plays in a band with Spin, Craig, and Marco, and stays as far away from Sean as he can.
Terri McGreggor
10th Grade
Terri's always been friends with Paige and Ashley, until last year, when Paige and Ash were on the outs and Paige gave Terri a choice: her or me. Terri chose Paige, and it's not clear if Ash has ever forgiven her. Ter had a crush on Spin that's probably still lingering. She also has a successful job as a plus-sized model.
Hazel Aden
10th Grade
Wherever Paige goes, you can usually find Hazel. They're good friends and a lot alike. Hazel made her mark at Degrassi when she admitted to the class that she's Muslim; she'd convinced them all that she's Jamaican, but when she saw the mistake she'd made by hiding the truth, she promised never to be ashamed of who she is again. Hazel hangs with Jimmy, Spinner, and the rest of Paige's crew.
Marco Del Rossi
10th Grade
Tenth grade. Marco's in with Jimmy and Craig. They're all in the same band, with Spinner on drums. But Marco's not down with Spin lately, because of Spinner's unillingness to accept Marco for what he is: gay. Luckily not all his friends are the same way; when a group of idiots assaulted Marco for being gay, Jimmy was there to help him in a flash. Marco's other true friend is Ellie, who longs to be his girlfriend, but she knows that will never happen. Marco also recently met Paige's brother Dylan, another gay student at Degrassi, and there seemed to be some connection happening.

Emma Nelson
9th Grade
Ex-ex-ex-girlfriend of Sean. (They made up at Emma's mom's wedding with the kiss to end all kisses, but it didn't last long. Sean ditched her for his new group of friends.) Emma's a free-thinker with strong opinions about everything: the state of the world, the state of her life, the state of other people's lives... She knows what she thinks is right, and she doesn't like it when anyone tells her she's wrong. That sometimes gets her into trouble. Oh yeah: Emma's mom, Spike, is married to Emma's teacher, Snake, who's extremely sick with Leukemia. And Emma's got a very new kid brother, Jack.
J.T. Yorke
9th Grade
J.T.'s always been best friends with Toby and part of his crowd, along with Emma, Manny, etc. But since J.T. stood up for Paige during her really bad time--and since he hit puberty--he's been in with the cool older kids and kind of leaving his old friends behind. Paige has always been J.T.'s dream girl, but he's also developed a huge crush on Manny lately. J.T. is (and probably always will be) the class clown. ("J.T." stands for "James Tiberius," by the way.)
Manny Santos
9th Grade
Manny seriously changed her image this year. She was tired of being "cute," so now she's going for sexy. She's definitely getting more attention from boys; problem is she's also alienated her best friends Emma and J.T. in the process. Manny dated Craig once last year, and he ended up breaking her heart. She never got over it. This year, she went back for more, and a major hook-up ensued. But it all ended up the same way...
Sean Cameron
9th Grade
Ex-boyfriend of Emma. The two of them have broken up and gotten back together enough times that everyone's lost count, but this last break-up seems like it's for good. Sean ditched Emma to run with a new crowd; a bunch of hoodlums no less. Sean's always been teetering on the edge of the dark side, but he seemed to be turning things around since he'd fallen in with Emma. Oh well.
Chris Sharpe
9th Grade
A DJ and music lover, so much so that he traded his locker to Spinner for a rare bootleg. Chris is a new face in the Degrassi halls, but he's been noticed. Especially by a certain other ninth grade student who's tall and blonde and thin...
Toby Isaacs
9th Grade
Boyfriend of Kendra, stepbrother of Ashley. He's also J.T.'s best friend, though they've started to kind of drift apart, since J.T.'s slipped into the cool crowd. Toby's a computer and chess kind of guy, and he's a good friend. He also stood up to Spinner, who was getting tough about Toby dating his sister Kendra.
Liberty Van Zandt
9th Grade
Editor of the school newspaper, reader of the school announcements. Liberty only wants one simple thing: to be the best. But no one can be the best all the time, and Liberty's trying hard to deal with that fact. She harbors a sizable crush on J.T. and can be the jealous type, so she's not always a fan of the people who get more attention from J.T. than she does, like Manny and Paige. Liberty's been chilling with Kendra a lot lately, and the two of them, with Toby, co-founded the Rooks and Knight chess club.
Kendra Mason
8th Grade
Girlfriend of Toby, sister of Spinner. Kendra met Toby because they both love anime, but their relationship almost went nowhere, until Toby stood up to Spinner and insisted he be allowed to date her. Kendra really likes Toby, but she also knows she's just a kid, so she wants to keep their relationship from becoming too much of a... relationship. Kendra's a founding member of the Degrassi girls floor hockey team, and she can outshoot pretty much anyone at the school.
Dylan Michalchuk
12th Grade
Older brother of Paige. Dylan's openly gay, and he takes some heat for it from the less tolerant students in the halls. But Dylan doesn't put up with being put down, and he's not the kind of guy you want to mess with; he's also the star player on the Degrassi Panthers hockey team. Dylan met Marco at a beach party recently, and there was definitely a spark there, going both ways
